Why God Exists From a Scientific Point of View: the Theory of Infinite Complexity and the Theory of Appreciation

November 19th, 2008
proof of god\
Daniel Nase asked:

Before going into a debate about the existence of God, I want you to understand how I was raised. I grew up in a Christian family. My dad is a part-time pastor and my mom is spiritual, but not religious. My grandfather is an in-your-face atheist, and my grandmother is a committed Christian. Anyway, we always celebrated Christmas and all the other Christian holidays mostly because its fun to celebrate the holidays, the kids love it, and it gave the family a reason to come together. I’ve been agnostic for most of my life, which means I believed there was most likely a God. However, I couldn’t be 100% certain, because I had no absolute proof to warrant a rational decision. I was never an atheist, which means you are certain there is no God. I’ve never really liked extremists whether they were atheists or religious extremists, because they seem very closed minded and judgmental; and they often allow their biases to twist their perception of reality to support their false beliefs even when the evidence in front of them is clearly not in their favor.

Growing up my mom and dad didn’t really talk to me about religion. They thought I should have the choice to learn and decide on my own what to believe. Today my dad says things like “I’m praying for you” and “bless you” all the time. Initially, I took it like he was trying to force his religious beliefs on me and thought I’m praying for you meant I pity you, which annoyed me because I was very successful and wanted his approval. I also felt I had a whole bunch of sound scientific reasons why religion was a bunch of manmade fiction. Now I take what my dad says as a form of affectionate like saying I love you; and my thoughts have changed, because I have a valid reason to believe that God exists. My first real talks about religion happened when I was about 12, because my grandfather liked to debate everything from politics to religion. He’s a really smart guy, so I listened to what he said and became interested in learning more about religion in order to make an educated decision one way or the other. I never took the things he said for face value, because I really wanted to know the real truth.

So I read the New Testament, the Old Testament, the I-Ching, and most of the other major and ancient religions. I even lived in Israel for a while to see all the sights, met the Pope, talked to the Dali Lama through email and listened to the preaching’s of every major religion from different speakers. The ones that impressed me the most weren’t trying to push their religious beliefs, and they did not act like fanatics who spoke in tongues, talked about blowing people up, discriminating against the non-believers or innocent people going to hell because they weren’t sure what to believe. Instead they used the teachings of their religion to help people and improve the lives of the followers, their community, their marriages, their families and their friendships. The ones I really listened to weren’t driven by money or getting their followers to believe in miracles; they were helping their followers create strong, happy families and avoid common problems that affect our personal lives and our careers. They did this by using stories and the teachings of their religion to paint the picture, inspire people, and help them develop into good citizens. They were trying to create a better world by leading people with their hearts and their minds, and there was a good reason for everything they said. I think that having faith and loving anything or anyone is a commitment. We shouldn’t be expected to commit to someone blindly or have faith in something we cannot prove. That’s why I’m writing this today.

I’m also pretty unique. I not only studied religion; I also studied science to the existent that I know as much as anyone with a Doctorate would know about the conceptual side of physics and how the universe works. That doesn’t mean I’m a numbers guy or somebody that writes things on a chalkboard all day, but I can hold an intelligent conversation with anyone about physics without making myself look like an uneducated idiot. I was a numbers, chalk board guy at one point in college, but I decided to start using common sense to understand the universe I live in. This happened when the Nobel Laureate I worked for explained to me that people with PhD’s in Physics who work at NASA don’t make much; he also said they are typically close minded because they spent most of their life cramming so many facts and numbers into their heads that they have a hard time coming up with anything new on their own. That didn’t appeal to me with my big goals to help mankind. I also didn’t want to become the world’s biggest nerd.

After all, if I’m successful in business, then I can afford to hire all the Nobel Laureates I need to crunch numbers for me and work on my science projects. Instead, I get to be the creative, common sense guy that solves problems like the fact that the neutron has the exact weight and charge as a proton and an electron combined, but all the nerds on the planet who spent 8 years of their lives in school couldn’t figure out that a neutron was just a proton and an electron stuck together. Sad, but true; I don’t mean any disrespect to people with more formal education in science, but this just shows us that the real value of an education are not the facts and figures we cram in our heads, but our ability to think critically, solve problems and be creative. I’m not trying to impress you or stroke my own ego by saying this, but the articles I’ve written about physics shock people, because they are completely unique and add value to our understanding of the universe.

There were so many times I’ve been called a genius by college professors that you would think I’m the next Einstein or Steven Hawking. I’m also one of the few people on the Earth that could have an intellectually challenging conversation with either of them, while talking about common sense things in science that aren’t known by anyone - unless they’ve read my articles on physics. So I have a unique understanding of both sides. I’ve been an agnostic scientist, and now I’m a believer that’s still a scientist. I no longer have any doubt that God exists, because I have a good reason. If you’re interested in learning why, keep on reading and share this with your family and close friends.

I learned that religions offered stories about God that were probably written by man to make a best effort to describe God throughout history and accomplish mutual goals. Some of these goals included overthrowing the Romans, teaching people morality and ethics, using religion to cultivate power over the masses, starting holy wars and influencing the politics of earlier times. As societies learned and changed, old religions were replaced or evolved to meet the needs of the people. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that any religion that did not adapt to the changing needs of society, and what we know to be true about the universe, would eventually be replaced by man’s search for a better fit as he approaches a more complete understanding of the universe. After all, new religions are created everyday that have slight differences in their beliefs. Christianity itself has literally hundreds of unique sects that have slightly different beliefs about God, the Bible and Jesus. Even the beliefs of Christians vary significantly from person to person.

I think the most valuable things I learned from giving myself an excellent education are keeping an open mind, understanding how personal bias effects our decision making, and tolerance and acceptance for the beliefs of others. Realistically, we are all probably wrong to a certain extent, but we can work together to discover the truth. Almost everyone has something valuable to offer as long as they are tolerant and open to understanding the beliefs of others. I also learned that no religion presented any significant proof of the existence of God, so I turned to science to find the answer to my question.

The first thing I want to mention is the Theory of Infinite Complexity, which states with enough time, humans will evolve their understanding and mastery of the universe until they appear to be Gods. Let’s start by considering what our caveman ancestors would think of modern man with all his understand and gadgets. To them he would be some type of God to be worshiped for his mastery of fire and his ability to strike down dinner or a dangerous animal by shooting thunder at it with a stick. He might even show up with a Hummer, a laptop, DVDs, an iPod, and any number of things that would appear to be magic. You get the idea, right?

Now here comes the part that most people will disagree with initially, because they don’t keep up on breakthroughs in science and the potential of technology. Already we know how to control the flow of time and bend space based on Einstein’s work decades ago, and today we have no-brainer ideas to actually do it. We also have the basic idea to construct a quantum computer based on quantum entanglement, which would be able to calculate anything instantly. We can even use the same discovery to build transmitters and receivers that communicate instantly with anyone or anything in the universe, no matter how far away they are. Instantly means faster than the speed of light, which is something that even Einstein didn’t think was possible. If you have doubts, look up quantum computer and quantum entanglement on Wikipedia.

Students at Stanford even found a way to link nerves like the one’s in your brain directly to a computer. That means we can communicate directly with a computer just by thinking. We’re also mapping and mastering how to rewrite our own genes to eliminate genetic diseases and improve on our own genetic blue prints. There are also many exciting breakthroughs in stem cell research that could someday lead to near immortality and organ regeneration. Nanotechnology is also a very promising field that has amazing medical applications. With man’s ability to communicate with a computer just by thinking and nanites in their body, he or she could change their body just by thinking. I’m not just talking about appearance; I mean everything, from the structure of our DNA to what our skin and bones are made out of to the structure of our brains, which is the concept behind Self Evolution.

These things and new discoveries in the future may lead man to think the same thing that our caveman ancestors would think of us today. People in the future will have resources and abilities that no ordinary human being today could possess. With the link between man and machine, verbal communication will become a thing of the past and mankind may start to think like a single evolving being over time made up of millions and possibly billions of minds working together. Essentially, we are evolving into God or a community of beings with the ability to reshape the universe any way we want at will. The real question is does God exist today?

With enough time almost anything is possible. We may even figure out how to change physics or discover that everything is the way it is for a reason, and another civilization that’s a lot further ahead of us made it that way so we could exist. With infinite time and space within a finite universe, the chance of one civilization being ahead of us so much that they fit our concept of god is a mathematical certainty. That means there is no doubt that god or something similar really exists, and we are not alone in the multiverse. Read the article Infinite Time & Space within a Finite Universe if you want to know what it is and why I use the term multiverse.

From a common sense point of view, there are also just too many coincidences in nature to believe that god or something similar does not exist. Take the water molecule as an example. If it was just a little bit different, life as we know it would not be impossible. The properties of water are exactly the way it should be for a reason, and that reason is to create life. We may just be some super being’s science project, but we have the same opportunity to evolve and fill God’s footsteps as any other intelligent race. Another question is why doesn’t God intervene when horrible acts of cruelty are about to happen to innocent people?

The next thing to consider is God’s impact on our lives, which I call the Theory of Appreciation and Manifestation. Why doesn’t God stop things like genocide, rape, suffering and murder? Why does God ignore us in our time of need and not change things when we pray for something better? Well the answer is simple. God only interacts with people that show appreciation. Otherwise, God just observes us and makes no effort to influence anything. This may sound silly, but it actually works. First, I saw appreciation work for my new friends and their family, a couple days later I saw Opera by chance and an audience of successful women talking about manifestation through appreciation, then I gave it a shot and my life started to change immediately like night and day. The interesting thing is that I didn’t do anything different.

I also thought very critically about whether there is a heaven or a hell and whether Jesus, Buddha, or any number of prophets and messiahs actually had anything to do with the real God. My thought is that we are like pets to God. If God doesn’t want us to cease to exist, then one of them will preserve our consciousness or our soul (mind). This is easily accomplished by super beings by transferring our consciousness to a new set of hardware, so they can continue to observe us. People that don’t show appreciation and earn favor just die, and there is no afterlife for them. There is also no guarantee that appreciation by itself will be enough to ensure an afterlife, and people who show an excessive or irrational appreciation for God are not highly regarded. There is also no actual hell with fire and brimstone or anything supernatural.

Although it is not the traditional version of heaven and hell, the choices we make and how society reacts to us influences the quality of our lives and the people in our lives. This is why suffering takes place, and where the closest thing that resembles hell actually exists. There is no real devil; there are only the evil acts of mankind toward other human beings.

We are all the sons and daughters of God. Messiahs and prophets are just the spearheads of religion, and most of them were either schizophrenic or making a personal sacrifice for the greater good of their people. Religion is clearly a manmade institution that helps people, but it also fills our heads with a lot of false information that holds back understanding and technology. Even if the Bible and other texts are partially fiction, they still have a tremendous value to society, because they are a source of history that was designed to help people live better lives.

Religion should also never contradict with science and nature. It should adapt to our understanding of nature and the universe we live in. Evolution is no longer just someone’s idea; it’s a fact now that we understand how DNA changed over time, and it was God’s plan to create life and watch it evolve all along. The Earth and the Universe are much older than the Bible says, and God did not make things happen in a week. God is also not one being; it’s a community of advanced beings who are a lot further along than we are.

5 Religions You Didn’t Know Used Marijuana

November 18th, 2008

Robert Kane asked:

If you asked most people to think of a “marijuana religion”, they instantly think of Rastafarians and nothing more. But while many religions are as condemnatory of cannabis as they are of any other intoxicant, there is a recorded history of religions using marijuana seeds and leaves that stretches back for thousands of years. Almost every major world religion, it seems, has made use of the drug, usually for spiritual purposes – look at the list below!

Taoism

Ancient Chinese Taoists were at first sceptical about the use of cannabis; their religion regarded it as “the liberator of sin” for some time. However, while they continued to condemn the hallucinations brought on through excessive use (which they regarded as leading to “seeing devils”), by the first century AD the followers of this religion used marijuana seeds in their incense burners while meditating, believing that the milder effects of the drug gave them a heightened spiritual awareness.

Christianity

“Jesus was a stoner” may sound like the slogan on a counterculture t-shirt, but it may have a grain of truth to it. Some historians believe that oil derived from marijuana seeds was a central ingredient in Jewish and Christian holy anointing oils. Some of the healing miracles of Jesus have even been attributed to the marijuana in the anointing oils – the drug can take effect through skin absorption, and marijuana can relieve the effects of glaucoma, skin ailments and menstrual pains.

In addition to this, Rastafarians and some modern Gnostic Christians believe that the Tree of Life referred to in one Biblical passage (”the leaves of the Tree of Life [that] are for the healing of the nations”) refers to the marijuana plant.

Sufism

Islam has generally condemned the use of marijuana; the religion regards the use of any intoxicants as haraam, or forbidden. Sufism (the mystical offshoot of Islam) takes a somewhat different view. This religion believes in knowing God through ecstatic states of mind, and widespread history of marijuana use has been recorded in Sufi culture over the centuries. Indeed, in one Persian folk tale, the founder of Sufism, a monk called Haydar, was the first Persian to discover marijuana. Out walking in the midst of a depressed mood, he came across the marijuana plant and ate several of its leaves. Finding his mood immediately and dramatically improved, he returned to the monastery and recommended that his brother monks should try it too!

Hinduism

There is a long history of marijuana associated with Hinduism, since about 1500 BC by some records. It is most commonly consumed in a drink called bhang, mixed in with spices, milk and sugar and drunk during Holi and Baisakhi, key festivals of the Hindu religion. The marijuana plant is associated with the god Shiva, and many Shiavites smoke it in clay pipes called chillums, believing it to be a gift from Shiva to help humans reach a higher spiritual level.

Buddhism

Like in most religions, marijuana use is controversial and divisive in Buddhism. The tenets of Buddhism advise against intoxicants, but in many sects of Chinese Buddhism, marijuana has been used in initiation and mystical rituals since the 5th century BC. Some Tibetan Buddhist priests believe it to be the most holy of plants, and there are many written records that suggest that the founder of Buddhism, Gautama Siddhartha, lived primarily on marijuana seeds and leaves in the years before his enlightenment.

World Religions: the World as Experience and Idea

November 16th, 2008

Daniel Jowssey asked:

What is religion? There are many definitions for the term “”religion”" in common usage. On this web site, we define it very broadly, in order to include the greatest number of belief systems: “”Religion is any specific system of belief about deity, often involving rituals, a code of ethics, and a philosophy of life.”" Thus we include here all of the great monotheistic religions, Eastern religions; Neopagan religions; a wide range of other faith groups, spiritual paths, and ethical systems; and beliefs about the existence of God(s) and Goddess(es). We recognize that most people define “”religion”" in a much more exclusive manner.

Many philosophies hold that the world is an illusion. Yet you experience it as real. Which is correct, the idea or the experience?

The world is an illusion. This is a view held by Vedanta, Sikhism, Buddhism, Plato, Arthur Schopenhauer, Christian Science, and A Course In Miracles.

Contradicting this view is your own sense experience of realness, the constancy of stimulus, the enduring nature of time and events.

Which view is correct? The idea of the illusion or your experience of the realness?

This answer proposes an objective observer, one who is not part of the system that is being observed. Newton held that time is absolute. Einstein held that it is relative to the observer. Perhaps that same paradigm shift can be applied to answering the question of what is real and what is not.

Those who propose that the world is an illusion are correct.

Those who propose that the world is real are also correct.

The idea that the world is an illusion can be argued in the following way.

1. You do not see the world as it is.

You see the world as you are.

This happens in two ways:

One, you can never escape your subjectivity. You may claim that the world is objective, but this is a claim made from the subjective state. Hence, if you were to lose your mind, you would also lose the world. Without an observer, there is no world. With your disappearance, the universe disappears. Does it exist despite you? If you are not there to ask or hear the answer to the question, it has no meaning.

Two, the world that you see is a direct result of your experiences in it. A rock is not just a rock; it is also your memory of all rocks seen by you. When what you see is more complex and engaging, you experience more emotions, sensations, and ideas about it. Thus, you never really see anything as it is. You only see it through the lens of your own thoughts about it.

2. All forms will pass away.

Entropy is built into the system. Nothing can escape this iron law of nature. Neither beauty nor truth, wealth nor power, genius nor intent ever last. Death and decay is the lot of everything, from atoms to stars, from our own sun to the universe itself. However, this collapse is a dissipation of energy, not an absence of it. According to the law of conservation of energy, which has never been refuted, energy can neither be created nor destroyed. What dies, then, is the form of things, the structure the energy was supporting.

3. The microscopic.

On the level of atoms, a vast space exists between the electrons and the nucleus, and even the subatomic particles are not solid bits of matter but transient energy forms that appear and disappear and reappear again. It is mainly empty space.

4. The macroscopic.

On the level of the cosmos, a vast space exists between stars and moons and planets, gas clouds and nebulas and galaxies. The universe, too, is mainly empty space.

5. The field of all possibilities.

On the level of the consciousness that organizes all things, this world is only another possibility out of an infinite choice. How many worlds with sentient beings exist? Is our universe only an electron in a cosmic atom? Given a field of infinite choices, how much weight does one choice hold?

The idea that the world is real can be argued in the following way.

1. What you are experiencing is real to you.

When you think of the world as an illusion, a sense of despair arises because it slights the beauty of your realness. It is pleasurable to touch and hold, to see and hear, to act and change things. It is ennobling to see the vast sky above your head and feel the wind in your hair and hear the squawk of a passing bird. It means much for us to be here and to be alive in this moment.

Neither science nor philosophy can deny the realness of your experience.

And in this context, even your dreams are real enough, because while you are in them, your entire experience is authentic enough for you. If you are being chased by a lion in your dream, it will feel as real to you as if you were being chased by one in the waking state.

2. Who you are is important to you.

Your life is important. You desire to be more than you currently are because you can feel the vast throb of life within you expanding ever forward to know more, experience more, and touch a fullness not yet known.

Your past is not just useless memory but a scrapbook of struggle and change, triumph and adversity, risk and new learning. Your present is the vividness of your current experience. Your future is your promise, to yourself and to the world.

Reality, then, is not fixed. It is an interpretation of consciousness and how it is interpreted depends on the inner and outer experiences of the observer. The world you live in is real enough to you as you live it. If this world is an illusion, does it mean that there is a really real world, as Plato conjectured. Probably not. If this world is an illusion, then so, too, are all worlds. And if this world is real, so, too, are all worlds.

Appreciating the miracle of having a consciousness to live in a world may be all we need to know to live happy, fulfilling lives, whether in this world or in other worlds which we will transition into after this one.

Consciousness, like the law of conservation of energy, can neither be created nor destroyed. Where you find consciousness, you will also find energy structured into the form of a world. And since consciousness never dies but appears to only grow increasingly more refined and sophisticated, worlds, too, probably evolve along similar lines. Are these worlds illusory or real? They are real enough to those who live in them.

Muslims Believe in Torah and Gospel in Addition To…

November 16th, 2008
scripture quotes
Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil asked:

This is a new series (1-11) of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.

In verse No. 11 in the Old Testament, God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.

Verse No. 11 in the New Testament says that, and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon..

Verse No. 11 in the Noble Quran says: who believe in that which has been sent down to you (prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the everlasting life.

————————

The verse No. 11 in the Old Testament is Genesis 1:11

The verse continues talking about the creation of the heavens and the earth, it says: Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.

————————

The verse No. 11 in the New Testament is Matthew 1:11

The verse continues talking about the Genealogy of Jesus Christ, and Matthew lists Jesus’ ancestors, the verse says: and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.

Here again, we have the intricacy in writing the names of the persons in the different four versions of the Bible studied.

Fundamentally, the names of the people have no translation, they have to be written as they are pronounced.

How come that a person’s name in one version of the Bible is Jeconiah and in another version of the Bible he is Jechoniah  and in a third version of the Bible, he is Jechonias?

Also, it is noteworthy the Babylon is written as it is pronounced in the four versions studied.

On the other hand, the Bible mentioned many names of Jesus’ ancestors without saying “and his brothers” e.g. Abraham Isaac, Jacob, Perez, Hezron, Ram etc. But when it came to  Judah, the Bible says “Judah and his brothers”. Is Judah a unique among Jesus’ ancestors?  The same is true with Jechoniah (or Jeconiah  or Jechonias), is he distinctive?

Furthermore, it should be emphasized that some women are mentioned in Jesus’ genealogy as wives of Jesus’ ancestors. They are Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and the wife of Uriah.

Nevertheless, Tamar and the wife of Uriah have committed adultery, Tamar was willing to do it and the wife of Uriah was abused by King David as the Bible claim!

However, None of the Muslims believes in that story about King David!.

————————

Verse No. 11 in the Noble Quran is Chapter 2:1, Surah Surah AL-BAQARA (THE COW), 2:4

In the previous article (10), verse 2:3, determines who are the believers, it says:

Those who believe in the unseen, that which is hidden from them such as the Angels, Paradise, hell, the Bridge over hell, the Scale, the Resurrection, the Reckoning, the Eternal Fire etc. It is also said that this means: that they believe in the unseen which is revealed in the Quran and also in that which is not revealed therein.

It is also said that the unseen is Allah Himself.

And establish worship, they perform to completion the five prescribed prayers, including the ablution that precedes them, the bowing and prostrations which are parts of them and also what is obligated in these prayers in terms of appointed timing.

And spend of that Allah has bestowed upon them, and of that which Allah has given them of wealth they give to charity. It is also said that this means: they give the poor-due from their wealth.

Verse 2:4, continues the determination of who are the believers, it says:

And those who believe in:

1)      that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) of the Quran and

2)      that which was revealed before you of scriptures i.e.  in the Torah, the Gospel and other scriptures given to all the prophets,  and

3)      the Hereafter, they believe in resurrection after death and are certain of the bliss of Paradise; they know it is real.

It follows that Muslims believe in the Quran, Torah and Gospel in addition to the scriptures given to all the prophets e.g. Abraham, David etc.

An Article- Religions Have Turned Political Groups

November 14th, 2008
world\
Dalip Singh Wasan asked:

Religions have turned political groups.

Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.

Different religions took their birth at different times and at different places and that is the reason, they could not turn one religion and now the people in each religion have started declaring that their religion is the best and all others in other religions are not on the right path but are misguided people.

If we read religious books of all the religions, we come to the conclusion that all the religions are accepting that God is one and only one though He is called with different names. All the religions accept that we all have been sent on this earth by God Himself and He directs all the events of our life. All the religions believe that God Himself writes luck and destiny each of us and we are to live as per those directions and when our time is over, God recalls us and we die. All the religions believe that after death each one has to give his accounts and the people who had been doing something wrong during their life time are punished and are sent to Hell and all those who had been doing good works during their life time are sent to Heaven. These are the minimum concepts which are available in all the religious books available on this earth.

The world has got one God and they have got the same type of faiths, but they are not uniting as one family. If we have an eye on this world, this world has already been divided on the basis of religions. Some are called Muslim countries, some are Christians countries and some countries could be called Hindu countries. These units have become political and now one group is not in a mood to accept the supremacy of the other. They are competing and we are observing that the people who are having power are invading the other weak countries and they are trying to establish their supremacy. The people in each religion are not worrying about the path of their religion, but at present they are having a desire that their religious group may get supremacy in the world. The people in other religions who are weak know that they are under danger and the people of other religions may attach them any time and they shall be establishing their own supremacy over them. We also know that when people of one country attack another country, they collect other countries with them who also belong to the same religion. So now we can say that the next phase of wars shall be between people of different religions and nobody knows which religion shall get supremacy over the world.

Much had been said and the wise people had been trying to tell the people of the world that all the religions had been established just to meet one God, but all these uttering has been ignored by the people of this world and they are competing with each other.

There had been a time when Muslims had been ruling the world and then a time came when the Christians could establish their imperialism throughout the world. It had been accepted that this sun was never setting down and had been shining all the time over British Rule. Now time is coming when the Christian world, who is laced with arms shall rule the world and all others shall have to accept their supremacy. At present the war heads are determining the supremacy and the countries which are not having war heads shall not be having any place and they shall have to accept the supremacy of powerful countries. We had seen that when one force was invading Afghanistan and then Iraq all the people of the world kept silence though such invasions are banned under the International Law. Though after victory the powerful countries did not occupy the countries they won, but they are operating through ‘remote control’ and all the people of the world are having fear that they too shall be coming under this ‘ remote control’ one day or the other. So we can say with safety that the religions are not playing the role of correcting the people of the world, but today these religions are dividing this mankind and out of these divisions undesired wars are taking their birth and the people who are weak are turning terrorists. The man on the whole has entered into the zone of danger and none on this earth when there could be attack on their country and none knows when he could be killed by the terrorists or by the rioters. The religions which could have brought peace in the world have brought all the dangers and now none is at peace in this world. Therefore, we shall pray to God that He must come down on this earth and should give this man a right direction. If this man is allowed to go on the present path, there are chances that the world would be controlled by the powerful and all others shall turn slaves or they would become terrorists. And then peace shall be impossible in this earth.

In the Quran: the Believers Have to Believe in …

November 13th, 2008
scripture quotes

Is the Quran Quoted From the Bible? (44) - Chapter 44– C: the Third Part (ii)

November 12th, 2008
scripture quotes
Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil asked:

Comparative Study between the Bible and the Quran (44) – C: The third part (II)

(Chapter 44:6-10)

The Old Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about Joseph accused his brothers of thieving his cup.

The New Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene.

The Noble Quran Verses from 6-10 are talking about Sending messengers with scriptures to the people is a blessing from their Lord, the Creator of the heavens and the earth who gives life and brings death. However, the disbelievers pock fun at the coming of the Hour. And watch the great visible smoke.

=========

The Noble Quran:

Chapter 44 in the Noble Quran is composed of 85 verses.

Verses from 6-10 are talking about 1) Sending messengers with scriptures to the people is a blessing from their Lord, 2) The Lord is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them of created beings, 3) He gives life and brings death. He is Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers, 4) The disbelievers play in doubt, they pock fun at the coming of the Hour and 5) watch out for the day when the heaven will produce a great visible smoke.

—————

The meanings of the verses 44:6-10

Verse six says that sending messengers with scriptures to the people is a blessing from their Lord, Allah who is the Hearer, of their sayings, the Knower, of their actions.

Verse seven says that, The Lord is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them of created beings; He is Allah, if you believe in this and if you would be sure. In other word, if you should be certain O people that God, exalted be He, is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, then also be certain that Muhammad is His Messenger.

Verse eight says that, There is no god except Him. There is no Creator save Him. He gives life and brings death. He is Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. He is your Creator and the Creator of you forefathers before you.

Verse nine says: Nay, but they linger in doubt, concerning the Resurrection, playing, in mockery of you, O Muhammad. In other word, the disbelievers play in doubt, they pock fun at the coming of the Hour.

In verse ten, God, exalted be He, says: So watch out for the day when the heaven will produce a visible smoke. Thus the earth became barren and famine became so severe that they began to see what looked like smoke rising between the heaven and the earth,

—————

The Verses 6-10 (YUSUFALI translation):

[6] As mercy from thy lord: for he hears and knows (all things);

[7] The lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith.

[8] There is no god but he: it is he who gives life and gives death,- the lord and cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors.

[9] Yet they play about in doubt.

[10] Then watch thou for the day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible,

Secondary 800-Year Age of Adam

November 11th, 2008
scripture quotes
Clark Nelson asked:

The secondary 800-year Generation Cycle is the tool we need to resolve the genealogy following Adam. Genesis scriptures quote a primary age and a secondary age for each listed character from Adam to Noah. Collectively known as the Antediluvian Patriarchs, they have a primary age until fathering the next named character. Secondary ages measure time from fatherhood until death. Genesis 5:4 informs us that Adam lives for 800-years following the birth of Seth. Work at timeemits.com groups primary ages into one primary age category. The Antediluvian Calendar secondary age category starts with the first 800-year Generation Cycle. The secondary age category groups the secondary ages together. The secondary age category is total lunar/solar time, denoted here “l/s”, and includes all Patriarchs in consecutive order. Generation Cycles illustrate the wisdom of ancient minds.

Genesis 5:4

“And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:”

Segments of 800-years increment the secondary age category at the end of every primary age division. Extending the ancient recordings expresses by repeating the secondary 800-year age of Adam for Seth and the remaining characters. A repeating 800-year Generation Cycle was included with the secondary age for each later descendant Patriarch. Antediluvian characters from Adam through Jared utilize 800-year Generation Cycles as part of their respective secondary ages. The 800-year Generation Cycle was a single unit of time. Components from lunar/solar calendar systems assemble the advanced 800-year Generation Cycle.

The begat genealogy following Adam lists a secondary age from the time of fathering the son, until the character’s death. The original 19-year-l/s-cycle of the Jewish Calendar modifies to become a 20-year-l/s-cycle regarding the Mesoamerican Calendars. Multiples of 20-year-l/s-cycles form the secondary age category. Each year in the 20-year-l/s-cycle was a 360-day-Tun-year. Mayan terminology employs the prefix “Ka” in the word Katun that describes one 20-year-Katun-cycle. Twenty multiples of the 20-year-Katun-cycle permits the Mayan prefix “Bak” to describe a 400-year-Baktun-cycle. Increments of 400-year-Baktun-cycles count the secondary ages for all characters in the Antediluvian Calendar.

Judeo-Christian history began with lunar/solar time reckoning concepts. Archaic evidence reveals that 800-year Generation Cycles were entrenched during the era of Adam and Eve. The time line establishes earliest Bible followers held acquired skills in astronomy, mathematics and communications. Actual observation through ancient eyes taught astronomers the 20-year lunar/solar cycle repeated the same heavenly sun, moon and star positions. The rational key to this calendar system accounts for precise fractions of degrees to the horizon, the phase of moon and gradual star locations. Lunar/solar time keeping order warrants a calendar system that later transferred to Mesoamerica either intact or in pieces. Located near Byblos and Ur, a small pocket of culture preserved the historical log in Genesis.

The calendar numbers found in the Holy Bible is, was, and ever shall be — everlasting. The eternal domain belongs to God. Beginning with Adam (generic man) and Eve (sunset, rve), the calendar is the human way to measure time and our precious treasure from the Bible. Message skills developed to permit transfer of the sacred calendar knowledge. The Word is the sanctuary for calendar material that began over 10,000 years ago. Genesis 5 holds the 800-year Generation Cycle legacy of the ancient past.

Calendar science highlights more awareness and esteem for early people than what is currently agreed. Primeval humanity wrote this calendar material in the familiar style common to their culture. Countless languages and interpretations preserve the sacred calendar numbers. From original Hebrew and Greek, through Old English and modern, we have the astonishing knowledge of distant past history. Beyond the sheer numbers and impressive calendar math, this Bible study describes absolute time reckoning in the sense prevalent back then. Our modern task is to adapt present understanding to reflect a people with extraordinary abilities.

Generation Cycles allow modern society to examine early scriptures based on original content meanings. Numeric remnants of the calendar and names attached to it constitute basic ingredients found with the Jewish, Egyptian and Mesoamerican Calendars of the Western Hemisphere. Manifest in mythology and religion, proto-historic gods and deities aided formulation of the calendar. The Antediluvian Calendar uses an agricultural 260-day-Tzolken-sacred-year within every 365-day-solar-year and extends by repeating 800-year Generation Cycles. Three different calendars combine for a hybrid understanding of extremely remote bonds in history. All three above were major calendars of the ancient world and commence between 4,241 B.C.E. and 3,113 B.C.E. years. Entwined with the Egyptian mythology and Israelite folklore, Mesoamericans add their beliefs regarding this advanced form of the calendar. A pattern sequence emerges to span nearly 8,000-years of history prior to the Great Flood of Noah.

The first 400-year-Baktun-cycle begins the secondary age category. Mayan calendar architects integrated their base 20 numbering system for both days and years. Mere 20-year cycles brought the heavens to a very close arrangement compared to the original state. The 20-year-l/s-cycle required further calendar refinements. The 400-year-Baktun-cycle enhances lunar/solar timekeeping over 20 multiples of 20-year-l/s-cycles. Time squares from multiplying 20-year-l/s-cycles by 20-year-l/s-cycles. The 400-year-Baktun-cycle was a product of the Mayan Calendar and the comprehensive period to indicate 210-years of l/s separation time. The 400-year-Baktun-cycle doubles to get the secondary 800-year Generation Cycle age of Adam. The secondary 800-year age of Adam completes the first 800-year Generation Cycle. Later descendants of Adam continued to add 800-year Generation Cycle spans.

Mesoamerican Calendars employed a 52-year Calendar Round that used both the 260-day-Tzolken-sacred-year and the 360-day-Tun-year. Working like meshed gears, 52-Haab-solar-years of 365-days each and 73-Tzolken-sacred-years having 260-days each pinpointed any calendar date. The 52-year Calendar Round is famous to archeology. After 18,980-days, the 52-year Calendar Round repeats. An intense ideology focused upon the Calendar Round preserved religious and social customs. The 52-year Calendar Round derives from the original calendar of Adam.

A 5200-year Great Cycle in the Mayan Calendar expands the 52-year Calendar Round a hundredfold. Concentric time shifts the reference from days to years. The scale multiple is exactly 100 times greater in the 5200-year Great Cycle versus the 52-year Calendar Round. The Long Count Initial Series and the Great Cycle are variations along the same theme. The Long Count was a popular way to synthesize calendar meanings in the mid-twentieth century. Mesoamerican chronologists point to the cyclic nature of Mayan Calendar time. A Great Cycle consisting of 5200-Haab-solar-years follows the same sequence of 13 different 400-year-Baktun-cycles as the Long Count.

Twelve consecutive 400-year-Baktun-cycles give rise to the presumed Mayan Creation date of 13.0.0.0.0. The Mayan Baktun numbers range from 1 to 13 in the Long Count Initial Series rather than 0 to 12. The Long Count is a number line, linear format developed for convenience. On the other hand, the Great Cycle presumes 12 Baktuns have already elapsed prior to 13.0.0.0.0. The Great Cycle repeats after 5200-Haab-solar-years or 7300-Tzolken-sacred-years, whereas the Long Count happens once.

Adam and his descendants accentuate a culture with outstanding perception and reasoning. Adam first identified a primary 130-year age, which was half of a 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle. Seth was the first masculine, solar-side time split written for two Mesoamerican 400-year-Baktun-cycles. The next l/s time split in the primary age category quarters the 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle to derive the primary 90-Tzolken-sacred-year age of Enos. At the end of the primary 90-Tzolken-sacred-year age of Enos, Cainan was born. The calendar system of halving, doubling and dividing time predicated most history.

Ancient theories of time reckoning divide the 260-day-Tzolken-sacred-year and the 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle in half as a single term. The calendar applies numerical matching to obtain 130-days and 130-years in a single term also. The division of 210-days l/s separation time for a 20-year-l/s- cycle results in 105-days of solar-side time split. The calendar squares 20-years by multiplying a 20-year-l/s-cycle by itself. The resulting 400-year-Baktun-cycle numerically matches 210-years of l/s separation time and concludes with 105-years of solar-side time split.

Significant steps in the secondary age category occur for each 400-year-Baktun-cycle. The 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle in the primary age category halves for the primary 130-year age of Adam at the completion of the first 400-year-Baktun-cycle. Midpoint age levels in the secondary age category are the odd numbered 400-year-Baktun-cycles. Total secondary age category time is 400-l/s-years that coincide with the end of the primary 130-year age of Adam. The second 400-year-Baktun-cycle increments the secondary age category and achieves the first 800-year Generation Cycle for Adam. Total secondary age category time is 800-l/s-years and Adams’ 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle is complete. The third 400-year-Baktun-cycle equally halves 210-years of lunar/solar separation to get 105-years of solar-side time split. Total secondary age category time is 1200-l/s-years to mark the end of Seth’s primary 105-year age. A fourth 400-year-Baktun-cycle adds to Seth’s secondary age category. Seth’s secondary age category concludes 1,600-years l/s time.

The end of odd 400-year-Baktun-cycle multiples are the halfway point transitions that determine changes in the primary age category. For example, the first 400-year-Baktun-cycle ending signals the halfway division of the primary age 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle. The end of the second 400-year-Baktun-cycle also ends the first 800-year Generation Cycle for Adam. The beginning of Seth’s secondary age category starts, or “begets”, 105-years of solar-side time split in Seth’s primary age category. A third 400-year-Baktun-cycle ends the first half of 210-years l/s separation time, thus resulting in 105-years of solar-side time split. A pattern emerges to alternate divisions of the 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle with solar-side time splits in the primary age category.

Given by Genesis 5:6, Seth’s primary age at the time of fathering Enos is 105-years. The first 800-year Generation Cycle finishes the secondary age category for Adam at the end of two successive 400-year-Baktun-cycles. The secondary 807-year age of Seth uses the same method. Seth repeats the 800-year Generation Cycle for the second time. Seth’s primary age halves 210-years of separation time to show 105-years of solar-side time split instead of dividing the 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle. Divisions of the 260-year-Tzolken-sacred-cycle alternate with successive solar-side time splits.

Mathematics of Hindu God

Chanchal Malviya asked:

Mathematics of God

Understanding a Hindu God within scientific arena

Science has opened up the secrets of materialistic world. But humans are yet ignorant about whatever is not-material. No religion dares to describe God with materialistic features, except Hinduism. And this is what brings Hindus under the cloud of ignorance as viewed by other believers. But there are a much deeper facts than what the world sees about a Hindu from their limited vision. I will describe here about the logical conclusion of a Hindu to envision God in the form of Idol or Image and what does a Hindu actually feel about God. I, being a so called Hindu, would describe my understanding of God, which I inherited as all other Hindus, from our religious books. My understanding, which remains same as a Hindu understanding, is based on the concepts provided in Vedas and Bhagwad Geeta. Wherever necessary, I would quote sentences from these books for references.

Concept of a Hindu Idol is like a mirage for all religions outside Hinduism. The illusion fades away and the image of idol evaporates away when one comes forward trying to reach the Hindu mirage. God in idol form as viewed by other religions is an object in vicinity to be sensed by a Hindu. We require an object to be in vicinity to sense it. We cannot see GOD directly unless we are so close to him as the concept of vicinity itself. God being a non-object for most religions has non-object vicinity to be realized. A basic question – How can a human being attain the state of non-object to perceive God? A Hindu has an answer to this and to understand the answer, we require talking some mathematical metaphors. What forced me to jump into mathematics is the very concept of God being ‘One’. By saying so, we have mathematicized God: we have surely given a number, may be unique, to God? When we say ‘One’, we always relate to some object and objects have boundaries. Boundary-less object cannot be ‘One’ as ‘One’ is finite. And a non-object God can surely not have ‘One’ attached to him. The very concept of God being ‘One’ reflects the lacking maturity about understanding of God. Since, all the religion has a say on this, I am inspired to share a Hindu view of God as ‘One’ and ‘Many’.

Philosophy has the capacity to prove and disprove theories of all streams including science, mathematic, biology, geography, astronomy. Truly speaking, there is no stream that exists without philosophy. In the world of religion, a man of philosophy stands on the two legs of materialistic and non-materialistic theories, manifested and un-manifested realities. A Hindu is not ready to paralyze one of his legs of materialism while treading towards God and this allows him to compose the world of mathematics with manifested and un-manifested entities, with finites and infinites, with material and non-material, with life and God. I can clearly and undisputedly say that anything that is neither zero nor infinity is material and manifested. The world of materialistic science lives within the boundary of zero and infinity – the finites. And the world of non-material science is governed by the two extremities of math - zero and infinity. It is this un-manifested form of God that is believed by all religions – the infinite. Thus, I can dare to say that we cannot see God because he is absolute infinite. I would also dare to say that we cannot see him because he is absolute zero. I use the word absolute, because zero or infinity is something which is used in mathematics tangibly though they are intangible. There is no difference between zero and absolute zero, both are zero. But absolute word is used to give our discussion a shape of philosophical mathematics thereby emphasizing on the zero and infinite entity.

An Islamic believer told me God can be infinite but not zero: How, someone who is absolute zero can also be absolute infinite. Hinduism is a religion which never asks its followers to close his thinking. What makes other religions to close their perception about God having said that he is of infinite capacity and of unexplained reason of being One (the two contradicting concept coexisting within them), Hinduism has a broader and clearer concept of realizing that God has nothing and everything to do with One or Infinite. As humans we are free to feel God and there is no quantification to limit feelings. There is no quantification to limit God and there is huge quantification that visions God. For example, the words of Quran about God can be easily quantified to number of words about him. But the meaning of God even in Quran cannot be quantified with finite numbers. Thus, Islamic brother, though believing in infinite form of God, takes shelter of finite means to vision that infinite.

Zero and Infinity are at opposite ends of extremities and these extremities are always beyond human imagination; they are non-material, they remain un-manifested. Any number of zeroes added to zero cannot increase zero even to a smallest measure. Any number of infinite taken out of infinite cannot reduce the size of infinite. Hence both are complete in themselves. All others are incomplete. Anything is complete if it disproves all additions or subtractions and executes its identity in all formulating circumstances. God is also complete in himself. Hence, if some religion tries to define God, I would say he fits at both the figures. He is nowhere, yet he is everywhere. He does nothing, yet he does everything. He is omnipresent and omnipotent, i.e. he is present in everything that is within the imagination of human and even beyond and he is capable of doing anything that is within the imagination of human and even beyond – he is the almighty. I, as a Hindu, know that if I try to bind anything with zero or infinite, I tend to outreach either of these situations. For me, any formulation done to realize God helps me to outreach him. As, the material and the manifested numbers which are non-zero and finite tends to convert to zero or infinite upon unlimited singular operation, so I standing before the idol tend to outreach the same zero and the same infinite God, with the repetition of my approach in terms of rendering prayer, concentration and love.

This theory of equating zero and infinity is beyond the imagination of mathematical science as both these entities are beyond object perception. And hence, science and God have separate realization. This is where philosophy of mathematics helps us to do synthesize the two - the impossible starts seeming possible with the removal of boundaries between mathematics and philosophy. And this is exactly what a Hindu does. We try to start from zero, traverse the whole number system to outreach the very infinity. We don’t see zero and infinity as a separate entity than the other numbers. Mathematics is the base of science and zero is the base mathematics. Thus a zero was a gift to this world by a Hindu (though I have enough evidence that the whole number system was formulated by Hindus, long before the word ‘Hindu’ existed). A Hindu has started this world, Vedas being the oldest known and yet the most matured creation of Philosophy and God. A Hindu has started the logics of mathematics. Yet, the world views Hindu as ignorant worshipper of God.

There is another big problem in vision God as simply infinity and considering him separate from all finites. Our mind but cannot accept to visualize zero and infinity either or together. We immediately tend to think of something like vacuum as zero and the whole space as infinity. We not only fail to recognize that the whole infinite space is composed by the sum of same zero vacuum, but it is impossible for us to even imagine this. This is impossible and that is why we call him God who fits this formula. Because, once this fits to human mind and becomes possible, God would be nothing more then science. If modern science denies this fact and enforces the law that everything is science, then they would not hesitate to accept that science is still child in contrast to what is yet to be realized. Can science say – ‘yes, we have come to the end of all discoveries’. Every scientist is sure to answer a big ‘NO’. And if it is so, a child cannot deny the fact that this universe exists beyond the universal law as defined by them. The infancy of science can be easily understood by the fact that they have yet not been able to realize what life is, forget about the infinite universe.

I would be bold to say here that, if science wants to reach out the infinite, they have to first realize what this zero is. Science has to accept the fact that life is still a mystery. And instead of ignoring and disproving the Hindu concept of this life and God, science has to come forward to mathematicize this Hindu philosophy.

Realization of God is an attempt to realize zero or infinity. Both exists together, both are within and outside us and we are part of both, but how to understand this. Zero for me is nothing but the self inside me, the soul inside me, the life inside me which is the vacuum composing the infinite space, forming the God. Hence, we need to uncover ourselves first. We need to realize ourselves first. We have to know the fact that there is something that is driving each one of us, the something that seems to be zero and nothing, is also a part of that infinite which is everything. Zero for me is the same driving force which is constructing me towards realizing the infinite world of knowledge. If I don’t bring in me the capacity to understand this constituent ‘zero’, how can I realize the whole ‘infinite’? Realization of this zero will give me power to realize the infinity - and this is what a Hindu does – realize the Self.

But is realization of this zero possible? If yes, how do we do this? Simple, say if I have a (one) coin with me and I give that coin to someone for no reason, what is left with us in terms of coin is ‘zero’ (coin). If to visualize zero even in pure mathematics, we require support of non-zero numbers, then how can our material mind envision the unmanifested without correlating it to the manifestations. The very concept of zero and infinite make us realize that our imagination is always composed of all things that can be represented by all other numbers but these two. Our mind is material, pure material, capable only to imagine the manifestations. But all religions accept that God is beyond these manifestations. And it is at this juncture, while all other religions ceases to move ahead in the step of realizing God, a Hindu moves forward boldly breaking the boundary of ignorance to unfold the impossible. A Hindu very well understands that creator is not separate from creations; for if he is separate from creations, than creations don’t require the creator, which means no religion should exist in this world. If creator is unmanifested and infinite, creations are manifested and finite. Infinite is relative to finite, unmanifested is relative to manifestations, creator is relative to creations, God is relative to us (materials). And this is where idol comes to generate a formula. We know very well that to realize God, we need to realize correctly what is there within our vicinity to us and then formulate them to outreach the unreachable. Idol worship is nothing but one such formula. Our internal representation of God is zero, and external vision is infinity - none of which can be visualized. If mathematics has to exist with zero and infinity, it has to create symbol of these two figures as well, and we have those figures. If God has to exist among his creations (the finite numbers) as a creator (the infinite), he has to be symbolized as images, idols and words. We find that in many Hindu festival idols are created and then drawn back in river; bringing the unmanifested into manifestations, realizing it with enjoyment, and then sacrificing the material back to the unmanifested.

We will now try to equate zero and infinity, and correlate them to the finites. And to do this, we require first to disprove the antithesis of the same. We must first conclude that the two extremities cannot be equated, nor can they be correlated with the finites, as is understood by most religions. Supporting the anti-thesis, we can say that everything that we think and do is outside the control of that thing which drives our breath - the infinite. This will enable us to believe the incomplete theories of modern medical science, which describes all concepts of life (particularly the so called non-material parts categorized by religions) under the umbrella of chemical behaviors. Chemistry of life is somehow tried to be viewed as a source of Amino Acids by science and remains unproven. But it is just not life that remains unexplained. How do we build memory? How our thinking does get developed over those memories? How do we feel love, hatred and anger? Are all these properties of just mind? Neurology has its own explanation about these, but none of those theories are effectively able to induce these properties as proof of concept. Hindus have many more explanations and many more queries that can put science under smoky mysterious loops. Nature has created every single creature on this earth with different proportions in nearly all aspect of life. And it is this capacity of nature which Hindus call a property of God that cannot be achieved by man. And it is this amazing variation of life which does not fit the chemical reaction theories of science. Because compounds react in similar fashion and produce same compounds for repeating reactors. But nature doesn’t execute this property and life prefers to exist in variations. Thus the anti-thesis that life is within the finite understanding of humans falsifies within this arena itself.

Hindu philosophy fits perfectly to equate this impossible relation of zero and infinity. Memories according to a Hindu is a property of mind, but realized by the same zero - the soul. Summing up of these memories is same as summing of the zeroes in order to achieve the infinite space of huge memory with increasing time. Thoughts of mind erupt from the infinite space of memories as zero and starts building up towards the same infinite again. Our mind is the bridge between this zero and infinite, overriding the river of finites. The zero and infinite are at two opposite ends of our mind. Thus, every aspect of mind starts from this zero. And as it starts its journey towards the infinite, the length of the bridge itself seems to be infinite. And the mind is lost within the infinitely long finite path of the bridge.

There are two entities in this world which seems to govern even God - Time and Relativity. There was no situation when time was zero and there is no concept that is not relative. Even time is relative to the finite numbers and has its extremities in infinites. Even God takes shelter of these two concepts. There is no event in the history of mankind, when anything occurred in no time. And if religions believe that God has done something, they cannot say that God did it in no time. And understanding of these two entities are first two stepping stone towards realizing God. According to many religions, other than Hinduism, God seems to be creating this Universe. If this has happened, God has existed within the finite boundaries of time. And finite is material. Hence, God is bounded by material, which is not true as per the same religions. Swami Vivekanand has a similar thought behind this:

The Vedas teach us that creation is without beginning or end. Science is said to have proved that the sum total of cosmic energy is always the same. Then, if there was a time when nothing existed, where was all this manifested energy? Some say it was in a potential form in God. In that case God is sometimes potential and sometimes kinetic, which would make Him mutable? Everything mutable is a compound and everything compound must undergo that change which is called destruction. So God would die, which is absurd. Therefore, there never was a time when there was no creation.

It would be interesting to compare Universe with Time, both being infinite and both being realized in finite manner by man. If evolution did occur, it must have occurred on at least these two parameters - time and relativity. If the whole Universe was nothing but singularity (a concept that is boggling the mind of scientists and yet they accept it) that was infinitesimally small (I can say it as our concept of Zero), what was there in the space currently consumed by this Universe? Was it simply a vacuum? Relativity will say then that the Singularity had existed with relative to vacuum; vacuum being the infinite and singularity being the zero. And this was all that was existing, some finite time ago (around 40 billion years ago as per Big Bang theory). The question arises - What was there infinite time ago? And Big Bang says: eruption of Universe from Singularity and collapse of Universe back into the Singularity had been a rotating wheel on the time line. This is what Vedic religion says. Why is there disbelief on Religion by Science? Is science now on same line as religion? This is what I call the development era of ‘Religious Science’ – an era where Science would exist in ignorance, with many perceptions about life, evolution and creation, none of them being a correct, complete and proved conclusion. Anyway, I am not here to prove or disprove any of these scientific conclusions. All I wanted to convey was that such beliefs are not new to this world, nor are they complete and finally correct. These are all scientific discoveries in relation to zero, finite and infinite relatively. I say this has been under the umbrella of relativity because science has not tried to prove the Big Bang or Evolution theory in isolation: science have tried to perceive these beliefs through material properties. In fact, no entity can be realized in isolation – not even God.

And thus, by saying that God is infinite and cannot be manifested would simply mean isolating God; breaking the infinite from its relation with finites. The only source of realizing God has to be through the finites, and idols are one such important finite, one such important manifestation of God which is beyond imagination of humans.
